A PROPOSAL TO CONVENE A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF
DRAFTING A GENERAL REVISION OF THE STATE CONSTITUTION
Shall a convention of elected delegates be convened in 2011 to draft a
general revision of the State Constitution for presentation to the
state's voters for their approval or rejection?
A PROPOSAL TO AMEND THE STATE CONSTITUTION TO PROHIBIT CERTAIN FELONS
FROM HOLDING ELECTIVE OFFICE AND SPECIFIED TYPES OF PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT
POSITIONS
The proposed constitutional amendment would:
Make a person ineligible for election or appointment to any state or
local elective office or to hold a position in public employment in
this state that is policy-making or has discretionary authority over
public assets, if:
* within the preceding 20 years, the person was convicted of a felony
involving dishonesty, deceit, fraud, or a breach of the public trust;
and
* the conviction was related to the person's official capacity while
holding any elective office or position of employment in local, state
or federal government.
Require the State Legislature to enact laws to implement the
prohibition.
Should this proposal be adopted?
Shall the expired previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6, of the Michigan Constitution in Burlington Township, of 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of taxable value) be renewed at 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for 4 years, 2010 through 2013 inclusive, for Township Fire Department operating purposes, raising an estimated $44,000 in the first year the millage is levied?
Shall the tax limitation on general ad valorem taxes in Eckford Township, Calhoun County, Michigan, imposed under Article IX, Section 6, of the Michigan Constitution, be increased by 1.0 mil ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) for the years 2010 through 2017, inclusive, for the general purposes of providing fire protection services to the township, and shall the township levy that increase in millage for those purposes in the township, thereby raising an estimated $52,108.00 the first year?
Shall Fredonia Township impose an increase of 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for seven years, 2011 through 2017, inclusive, for township road construction and improvement purposes, which one mill increase will raise an estimated $58,000.00 in the first year the millage is levied?
Shall Sheridan Township impose an increase of up to 1 ½ mills ($1.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for five years, 2010 through 2014, inclusive, for road maintenance and repair purposes, which 1 ½ mills increase will raise an estimated $57,760 in the first year the millage is levied?
