Shall the limitation on general ad valorem taxes within Lapeer County, MIchigan as provided in Article IX, Section 6, of the Michigan Constitution be increased by .33 mills (33 cents per $1,000.00 on Taxable Value), and shall the Lapeer County Board of Commissioners be authorized to levy a millage of .33 mills (33 cents per $1,000.00 on Taxable Value) of the Taxable Value of all Property for a period of 10 years from 2008 through 2017 inclusive to provide funds for general operation, equipment and maintenance of the Lapeer County medical Care FAcility? (THIS BEING A REDUCTION OF THE .80 MILLS THAT EXPIRED WITH THE 2007 TAX LEVY) This levy would raise an estimated $1,054,598.00 in the first year. To the extent required by law, a small portion of the total revenues from the tax levy (approximately 1.8% in the first year of the levy) will be captured only from within the districts of and disbursed to the following Downtown Development Authorities: Village of Almont, Village of Clifford, Village of Columbiaville, Village of Dryden, Village of Metamora, Village of North Branch, and City of Imlay City.
Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Elba Township be RENEWED at 1.50 mills ($1.50 per $1000 of taxable value) for the period of 2008 through 2011 inclusive for the operation, staffing and training of the Elba Township Fire Department; and shall the township levy such RENEWAL in millage for said purpose, thereby, raising in the first year an estimated $315,000.00.
WHEREAS, the North Branch Township Fire Department has a continuing need for funding in order to provide adequate fire protection for the community; and WHEREAS, the Township Board desires to submit to the electors the question of renewing and continuing the existing millage levy for fire protection. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1. The North Branch Township Boad hereby directs that a millage renewal proposal be submitted to the electors of North Branch Township on the question of raising money for fire protection purposes at the general primary election to be held on the 5th day of August, 2008. 2. The ballot proposal shall be worded as follows: FIRE PROTECTION PROPOSITION Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within North Branch Township be renewed at 1-1/2 mill ($1.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of 2009 through 2012 inclusive, the funds to be used to maintain, operate and equip the North Branch Township Fire Department; and shall the Township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $154,727.70.
Shall the Tax Limitation of General and Ad Valorem Taxes within Rich Township imposed under Article IX, Sec 6 of the Michigan Constitution be increased for said Township by (1) mill $1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value.) For the years of 2008 thru 2012 for Road & Bridge construction & maintenance purposes. Thereby, raising an estimated $45,000.00 in 2008.
Shall the previous voted increase in tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec 6 of the Michigan Constitution on General Ad Valorem Taxes within Rich Township be renewed at 2 mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value, reduced from 3 mills) for the period of 2008 thru 2012 inclusvie, the funds to be used to reduce and control the mosquito population within Rich Township; And shall the township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, hereby raising in the first year an estimated $90,000.00.
