Summary

Shall Grattan Township increase the
tax rate limitation imposed under
Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan
Constitution on general ad valorem
taxes and levy a new additional
millage of .49 mills ($0.49 per $1,000
of taxable value) on taxable property
within Grattan Township for ten (10)
years, 2020 through 2029, inclusive,
to provide funds for the voluntary
purchase or lease of land, interests
in land or conservation easements
within the Township, and enabling
the Township to also take advantage
of matching funds where available or
participate in county, state or federal
programs, in order to preserve
farmland, open space, wildlife
habitat and/or scenic views within
Grattan Township?
If approved and levied, this millage
would raise an estimated $98,000 in
the first year of the levy.
