SOUTH HAVEN CHARTER TOWNSHIP CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH HAVEN POLICE MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL Shall the previously authorized increase in tax limitation on all taxable property in the Charter Township of South Haven, Van Buren County, that expired in 2016 be renewed and the Township be authorized to levy an amount not to exceed .75 mill ($.75 on each $1,000 of taxable value) against all taxable property for a period of five (5) years, 2017 to 2021, inclusive, for the purpose of operating, equipping, constructing and purchasing for the police department or any other purpose authorized by law for police service? The estimate of the revenue the Township will collect if the millage is approved and levied by the Township in the 2017 calendar year is approximately $109,000.
